Flock is good. I have been using it for a while now and I have faced no issues with it. For that matter, I have never faced any issues with firefox as well. Infact, I have 30+ add-ons and I use it heavily. Wondering what could have been your problem.
Try erasing the firefox profile and create a new profile after re-installing it.

I wrote about this last summer here: http://www.darronschall.com/weblog/archives/000271.cfm

While not AIR-specific, the underlying issue is the same (AMF).

Serializing objects is one of my favorite features of the file API.

I posted a related example here:

I feel the same way. I have all but lost interest in pursuing 'traditional' web development. I differ from your opinion of Silverlight. I don't think the Blu-Ray metaphor is valid in this particular case. Where the HD disk format needed to come down to a single format for practical purposes, the same is not true for application frameworks. For me the issue is mainly with brain capacity and time. For years it seemed like I was bouncing around from language to language until finally I came to the conclusion that I needed to stop and FOCUS. AS3 and Python won the draw for many reasons. This isn't to discourage or disparage Silverlight, because I am sure it is cool, I just haven't had a need to even install the runtime up to this point ;)

[...] next gen gadget blog - gadget news, tech, funny gadgets, wrote an interesting post today onHere’s a quick excerpt I had an interesting thought tonight that I thought I’d share. Most of the recent Flash/Flex website fall into three primary categories in terms of interaction: applications, web page emulation or the ever-loathed eccentric designs. Obviously, applications are Flash sites that behave much more like traditional desktop applications. However, the other category is usually seen when someone is making a flash site in lieu of an HTML site, so we get a design that has behavior similar to HTML pages. [...]
